In the year 2008/2009, BNSC's partners spent £268 million on space programmes - about 76% of which was the UK's contribution to European Space Agency (ESA) projects.
BNSC co-ordinates the civil space activities of its funding partners. The partners retain responsibility for their own budgets. The figures below were correct at time of publication.

In addition, the UK nominally contributes 12% of the EU Framework Programme. Preliminary figures for the first two calls of the EU FP7 space thematic priority indicate that UK organisations are likely to receive 25.23 M€ out of the total expenditure of 196.78 M€.
