Space UK Issue 24

Welcome to the 24th issue of space:uk. In this edition we look at what's happening with Hubble; its past, its present and its 'bright and sparkling' future!

We also bring you an interview with Queen guitarist Brian May. Perhaps better known for his rock stardom, we talk to him about his other life-long love: astronomy. We've even got a fantastic competition on page 20 to win a copy of Brian's new book 'Bang! The Complete History of the Universe'.

A 'Foton Mission' may sound like a bad furniture shopping experience, but turn to page 14 and discover what it really is and how it's helping European researchers prepare for future missions.

Thinking of the future, we report the latest on CryoSat-2. Once built, the spacecraft will help us understand the effects of climate change through its proposed missions to the poles. Find out more on page 16.
